The diary section of Scotland on Sunday has reported the latest irreverent going-on at corporate couture firm, NKD Clothing.

The newspaper’s Barfly section specialises in quirky, amusing and gossipy tales from the business world.

Now it has reported how staff at NKD Clothing have made a tongue-in cheek request to buy a cardboard cut out of boss, Gill Eastgate.

The full story reads:

STAFF with corporate couture firm NKD Clothing are threatening to buy a life sized cardboard cut out of boss Gill Eastgate after posting her missing in action.

After leading an MBO in 2005, Eastgate was a reassuringly constant presence in the Edinburgh-based company, which designs and delivers stylish work wear and staff uniforms to businesses across the UK.

However, she has been on a credit crunch-defying sales push since earlier this year which has seen her attend an astonishing 36 appointments in just two months.

Eastgate said: “I used to worry why there weren’t more businesses in need of uniforms or corporate clothing would find their way to us. Then a management consultant showed us sales isn’t a nasty word. The downside is that I’ve barely been in the office and the rest of the team have been winding me up about how nice it must be to be jaunting all over the country.”
