MSP Praises Direct Savings’ Launch Of Perth Energy Centre

Direct Savings Press releases

Direct Savings’ expansion in Perth, representing a £100,000 investment, provides the firm with its sixth UK office – but more importantly, will encompass show space for its revolutionary infranomics heating systems.

John Swinney, Scottish Finance Secretary and MSP for Perthshire North was on hand to cut the ribbon at the official opening ceremony.  He said:

Direct Savings decision to locate here in Perth is excellent news both for our local economy and this dynamic and growing Scottish business.

“This expansion is in response to the firm’s development of its infranomics products and will see Direct Savings employ 20 additional staff as it seeks to develop its portfolio of innovative energy efficiency products into the region.

“Perth hosts road and rail hubs north, south, east and west and super fast broadband will roll out across our city soon.

“I very much welcome this exciting development for Perth as another new company sets up here seeking to fill sales, administrative and installation roles.”

Direct Savings initially specialised in carrying out loft and cavity wall insulations across the UK but it has also looked to diversify its business into other innovative energy efficient products such as its Infranomic Far Infrared heating system.

Managing Director Ged Smith said they are confident the Infranomic Far Infrared system, which features the same technology used in premature baby incubators, will transform the UK household heating market and become commonplace in properties in the near future.

The heating system can go a long way in alleviating ever increasing energy costs, saving an average of 45% on heating costs per year, making it highly efficient and cost effective.

Managing Director Ged Smith said: “Direct Savings is a great example of creative Scottish firm that has spotted a key business opportunity and put in the energy and investment to make it work.

“We are predicting major expansion of our business over the next two years.  That success will be channelled back into the business – both to benefit our staff and to continue to research and develop products like Infranomic heating that will benefit homeowners for years to come.

“Over the past two years the business has gone from strength to strength and our vision now is to establish Direct Savings as the market leader in providing energy efficient solutions.”

Infranomic heaters omit ‘Far Infrared’ energy which floods the entire room with warmth, absorbing into all materials within the room, including the walls, ceiling and floor.  The heat retention is far greater to that of warm air conventional systems.

Far Infrared is also acknowledged as a natural and harmless form of heating that is actually beneficial to the human body – the body is designed to absorb Infrared energy as it operates on the same frequency.

Husband and wife team Ged and Eileen Smith founded Direct Savings in 2010 from a garden shed and since then the business has expanded across the UK – including its current main operation in Livingston – run by 130 staff with an annual turnover of £12 million.
