The Italian Connection

It’s been a busy week here at Holyrood PR – not that I’m complaining though, as despite the hard work, I not only got to go on a real news photography job, but I also got to meet one of Italy’s football greats Ciro Ferrara! I know – WOW!

It all started when I went with the resident video team Capture Media, on a video and photography news job to Holyrood High School, who were welcoming the under 21 Italian football squad ahead of their game with Scotland ‘s under 21 team this week (and  yes Italy won 4-1!)

The future football stars were on hand to provide a question and answer session with students who were studying Italian, as well as meet some of the schools aspiring young footballers. The session was a great success and the pupils certainly impressed with their grasp of the Italian language – which was faultless compared to mine which is a bit out of practice.

The job of the HPR and Capture Media team, was to ensure that we captured all of this on video and through photography, to make sure that we had a series of creative and interesting images which could then be uploaded onto Deadline News’ Edinburgh news site.

On the day I not only learned how to use a video camera, but I also learned how to think creatively and that often a clever and creative picture can add significant value to any news story or PR media release or campaign. As the old saying goes ‘a picture can be more than a thousand words’ and in this case it most certainly was. You can view the final video and picture selection on Deadline News.co.uk

The team here at HQ are experts at putting together the perfect creative image to tell any story you could imagine and if you don’t believe me take a look at this picture show reel and see for yourself!

And….before I forget check out Lewis with our new pal Ciro Ferrara on our Facebook page, he looks like a very happy chappy. Well as you know it’s been hard week being the team’s token pig but no rest for the wicked. I’m off to help out the team with more exciting client projects and I’m sure you will be hearing from me much more as the weeks go on. No way are you getting rid of me now. Ciao.
