Eagle Couriers Library contract

Eagle Couriers has hit the headlines in Edinburgh’s biggest-selling newspaper – after landing a six figure deal with the nation’s most important libraries.

The courier firm, which has bases in Edinburgh and Glasgow, has been appointed by the Agency for Legal Deposit Libraries (ALDL), as reported by the Evening News.

As part of the prestigious contract, Eagle will play a key role in helping to maintain and add to a priceless, 400-year-old archive of the UK’s most important books and documents.

The ALDL recently moved its HQ form London to Edinburgh. It now sifts through every book, magazine, newspaper and other important document, before deciding which of five libraries across the UK each piece should be archived at.

Eagle will now make regular deliveries over the next three years to specialist repository libraries in England, Wales and Ireland.

The contract is the latest blue-chip win by Eagle, which has also won important work with the national blood bank and with BT.
