Last Chance to Apply for Share of £10,000 Community Bursary Scheme

Team members pose with bursary figures for Edinburgh PR agency story

A FINAL call has been made for community groups, charities and good causes to get their applications in – for a chance to secure a share of a £10,000 community grants scheme.

In early April, CALA Homes (East), in partnership with the East Lothian Courier, unveiled the dedicated initiative for East Lothian – as part of the housebuilder’s commitment to delivering long-term and tangible benefits to the county.

Following the launch of the scheme, which offers maximum potential grants of £2500, more than 70 applications have now been submitted by a diverse range of groups. Any further applications must be received by no later than Friday, May 19, 2017.

Philip Hogg, Sales and Marketing Director with CALA Homes, said: “We are now approaching the last week for entries and we are thrilled with the response so far.

“Hard-working groups are doing brilliant and vital work all across East Lothian, including local charities, children’s causes, educational and community organisations.  The difference they make goes far beyond the people involved directly and benefits the entire, wider community.

“With this final call-out we want to make sure that as many East Lothian groups as possible are given the chance of receiving a share of this grant funding. We’d also encourage readers to share the details of the community bursary with their friends and families who may be involved with local good causes.”

The selection panel will include CALA staff drawn from varied areas of the business, including surveying, architecture, planning and customer service as well as East Lothian Courier editor, Robbie Scott.

Groups can apply by filling in the application form on this page and posting it to CALA East Community Bursary, CALA Marketing (East), Cairnlee House, Callendar Business Park, Falkirk, FK1 1XE. You can also receive an application form by visiting www.cala.co.uk/bursary to or by emailing eastbursary@cala.co.uk.

Community groups, charities and good causes are invited to outline how financial aid from the CALA Homes Community Bursary – up to a maximum individual grant of £2,500 – would help them continue to deliver much-needed services and benefits to the area.
