Fashionista Fiona Proves Old School is a Style Winner

FASHION designer Fiona Fraser is to help Edinburgh pupils put on a catwalk show for a good cause after a parent spotted her fashion credentials in the Evening News.

Fiona recently landed her dream job with the renowned corporate couture firm, NKD Clothing, which provides stylish and bespoke designs to leading UK businesses.

She now leads the company's design team, which has recently swelled its impressive client list by adding Flyglobespan and Fraser Suites Europe.

Previously Fiona graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art with a BA Honours in Design and Applied Art in Printed Textiles for Fashion, before moving to London to work with international fashion label Eley Kishimoto.

The 28-year-old print specialist worked for Eley Kishimoto at top events including London Fashion week.

Fiona's NKD Clothing appointment was published in the Evening News where it was then spotted by a Royal High School parent.

As a result pupils at the Edinburgh school will benefit from Fiona's fashion experience at NKD Clothing when they stage their own fashion show with local businesses in Edinburgh tonight (Thursday 8 October).

Fiona will appear as guest of honour at the event, which has been organised to benefit the Parent Teacher Association, with all funds raised being used to provide vital sports equipment and to ensure every pupil at the school can take part in school trips and outings.

Fiona said: "I was really surprised to be invited - and extremely flattered as well.

"Someone at the school had read about my appointment to NKD Clothing and with my fashion background, thought it would be a good idea to invite me along.

"I'm really forward to the evening and hoping that my experience working at NKD Clothing and previously at events such as London Fashion week will help to inspire the Royal High School pupils whilst raising funds at the same time."

Jane Frith, Depute Rector of the school said: "This is one of the biggest social events in the school calendar. It's glamorous, exciting and edgy and the pupils and parents, who have helped to organize the event, have put everything into it.

"We're delighted to have landed someone of Fiona's calibre as guest of honour, particularly since she is working with an Edinburgh-based company which is a real leader in fashion design for the workplace."
