As speculation grows about Edinburgh PR ‘guru’ role, Holyrood Partnership gains great PR Scotland

Scott Douglas was approached by AllMediaScotland to comment on the speculation surrounding a new highly-paid Edinburgh-based public relations role.

The new role will see the lucky candidate charged with boosting Edinburgh’s profile and increasing the amount spent on promotion from £2 to £5 million.

The allusive position, said to have a salary of £110,000 has headhunters searching across Scotland for the perfect candidate.

Scott Douglas is cautious but optimistic about the proposed new addition and adds that he doesn’t really believe the role is rooted in PR.

He believes: “This isn’t really a PR role. The new body will be responsible for all aspects of marketing and promoting the city. What really matters is that the chief executive has the business chops for the job”

Scott has many ideas about how this post should be run, however, states that he is firmly rooted at the Holyrood Partnership and when asked if he will be going for the job said.

“No. But whoever gets the job will be someone who understands that you cant always have the best talent in house. They’ll be in touch sooner or later”.

The full article can be found on the All Media Scotland website and was secured as part of an ongoing media relations campaign carried out by the Holyrood Partnership.
