Glamorous Shoot Helps Clothing Firm to Look Good NKD

NKD Clothing Press releases

LEADING corporate couture specialist NKD Clothing has completed a glamorous photo shoot as part of its ongoing expansion.

The fast-growing Scottish company brought in a top fashion photographer for the assignment, which will help showcase its work to an international audience.

Delighted staff say the 10-hour modeling session yielded a portfolio of glossy images which will help set NKD Clothing further apart from other business wear suppliers.

Gill Eastgate, managing director of the Edinburgh-based company, said: “We don’t have a brochure because our designs are bespoke for each company we work with.

“However, we still need regular, fresh images to keep our website bang up to date and to ensure our client presentation materials are relevant and contemporary.

“This is the best set of photographs we’ve had. Looking good is at the very heart of our success – so getting the images which tell that story couldn’t be more important.

“We’ve created a unique niche in the corporate wear market by showing that staff uniforms can be chic and elegant, yet still be affordable and practical. We are now taking that success beyond the UK and these images will help us with that.”

Fashion PR in Scotland

The NKD Clothing success story has been created because the firm uses the best quality materials, while working closely with clients to create designs that staff enjoy wearing at work.

That has made NKD Clothing one of the most sought-after designers in the hospitality sector, where leading names like Malmaison, Hotel du Vin and Dakota recognise the importance of image. Its growing client list also includes airlines and beauty salons.

The latest modeling assignment took place at Edinburgh’s Fraser Suites hotel, the 75-room boutique hotel in the heart of the historic Old Town. Designers at NKD Clothing produced the elegant uniforms for the hotel’s staff.

Fiona Fraser, who recently took up the role as Design Manager with NKD Clothing, brought new expertise to the shoot. She has extensive fashion experience in styling at modeling jobs with two of Scotland’s top model agencies.

She chose the outfits and styled the models to be captured by respected Scottish fashion photographer, Anna Isola Crolla.  Fiona also carried out painstaking research to identify the best location for each aspect of the shoot.

Public Relations Success for NKD Clothing

Fiona added: “It was hard work but a lot of fun. We wanted to get exactly the right choice of garments in the ideal settings and we’re happy we achieved that.

“Although our designs are bespoke, we wanted to really mix it up to show potential clients what can be done by taking our unique elements and matching them with affordable, stock-supported lines.

“What we want to do is come up with a highly-professional ‘look book’ which can be constantly updated to show potential clients what we are capable of.”

As well as photographing uniforms worn by Frasers Suites waiting and reception staff, the five strong team on the day also showcased uniforms designed for workers at historic Alnwick Castle in Northumberland and for Scottish high-end caterer, Ginger Snap.

The finished suite of images will also include quirky uniforms designed for 21212, the acclaimed new restaurant in Edinburgh from Michelin-starred chef, Paul Kitching and bold new uniform for crew of the Flyglobespan airline.

Fiona said the Fraser Suites setting was ideal for a series of visually stunning work-themed images. The building in St Gile’s Street dates from the 1800’s and boasts superb views across Princes Street Gardens to the Firth of Forth beyond.

She added: “Ultimately our clothes are for work – but with this photo shoot we’ve proved that can still involve a touch of glamour without even the slightest hint of drudgery.”

After a management buyout in 2005, Gill Eastgate turned NKD Clothing into a £1.3 million business which is being fast-tracked by Scottish Enterprise.

As well as being promoted worldwide by the influential Globalscots network, The firm has brought in top business coaching experts Shirlaws to help realise further growth.
