The Deeside Piper has featured plans for the creation of a colourful new section in one of Scotland’s most renowned gardens on their front page.

The makeover of the gardens on the Inchmarlo Estate will see more than 1000 new plants introduced and have the gardens in colour all year round.

The plans are being funded by local entrepreneur Professor Charles Skene, founder of the Inchmarlo Continuing Care Retirement Community at the heart of the estate.

The new gardens aren’t set to open for another three weeks but the plans have already enjoyed fantastic media coverage thanks to the Deeside Piper.

The newspaper has published a colourful picture on the front page showing award-winning gardener Billy Carruthers with some of the plants he is transporting to Inchmarlo for the ambitious project. And inside the newspaper goes into more detail in a page-lead article about the plans.

The plans have excited residents and homeowners at the Inchmarlo Continuing Care Retirement Community, which was the first of its kind when it was established in Scotland in 1986.
