exel wines in scotland on sunday barflyExel Wines has been featured in a national Sunday paper for taking a stand against a growing drinking trend.

Scotland on Sunday’s Barfly section included an opinion piece from Exel Wines who are against an attempt to make red wine a more ‘everyday drink’.

Under the heading “Flat response to fizzy red wine”, the article explains that drinkers are adding fizzy juice to red wine to make a Sangria-style tipple – but Exel Wines believe it’s a way to disguise cheap plonk.

Operations director Russell Wallace is quoted in the piece, stating that in the majority of cases, people have not been informed of the wide range of wines and are mislead in poor quality.

Perth-based Exel Wines strive to bring the finest wine and vintages from around the world to Scotland and offer top advice to both individual customers and wholesalers.

The full article can be viewed on the Scotland on Sunday website and was secured as part of a sustained PR and media campaign carried out by the Holyrood Partnership.
