THE REPORT from last year’s fourth quarter shows that of the ten cheapest areas in Scotland to rent, eight are in or around Glasgow.

Govan and Ibrox are coming in at the cheapest, where the average monthly two-bedroom rent stands at £432.

Neighbourhoods in Edinburgh and Aberdeen dominated the the top ten list of most expensive places to rent.  Park and Woodlands was the only Glasgow area to make it into this list, where the average rent for a two-bedroom flat is £795 a month.

Dan Cookson, senior analyst for the CityLets network said “It is good to see that while urban rents have increased gradually over the year there are still areas that can offer value for the tenant in each city.”

“This is important as it is evident the ‘generation rent’ trend continues with many people not being able to afford a deposit for their first step on the property ladder.”

CityLets makes moving easier by helping you find properties to rent in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and across Scotland.

This coverage was secured with The Scotsman on behalf of CityLets, thanks to Holyrood PR.
