Upmarket house builder take over the headlines, with help of Scottish PR agency
In fact at times it seemed like the renowned housebuilder had moved lock, stock and barrel into a new home in the media.
So, we thought it was worth recapping what that few weeks of media success looks like – and why it is so important to CALA in attracting potential buyers to view its outstanding new build properties.
First up, we secured a massive double page in The Scotsman Property supplement which publishes every Wednesday and attracts a stellar circulation of 27,000.
The sweet success highlighted the double launch of CALA’s Dalmeny Park showhomes – designed by local firm LUMA Interiors.
Joanne Macdonald,Owner at Luma Interiors, said: “Having lived in South Queensferry for some time, I love the rich visual and historical interest that the area has to offer and so felt it would be great to represent this in the showhomes we were designing.
“As Dalmeny Park is located so close to two, and soon to be three, of Scotland’s most iconic bridges, we felt it would work well to channel this engineering history into the flexible design of the five bedroom Lowther Showhome.

Further project success included the range of Arthur-style homes available at CALA’s Fairmilehead development, the stunning Cumberland show home at its Trinity Park development and the award-winning offering at Albert Dock in Leith, have all grabbed the attention of key property publications, thanks to the efforts of the PR team at our Edinburgh public relations agency.
First up was a mention in commuter-friendly newspaper The Metro, which focused on the CALA Homes development at Fairmilehead in the south of Edinburgh.
The article focused on the three bedroom terrace ‘Arthur’ homes which cost less than £400,000 and could appeal to fitness fanatics because of easy access to local gyms close to the Fairmilehead development.
The coverage was part of The Metro’s “get fit for the New Year” feature and was an important piece of coverage for CALA Homes, because the newspapers reaches 120,000 people every day. More importantly, it is the must-read newspaper with commuters into Edinburgh, who are the ideal target demographic for this CALA development.
The Holyrood team also managed to secure a range of coverage in The Herald including a report on Albert Dock’s “Best Brownfield” triumph at What House? Awards in Mayfair, London.
Under the headline “Offers are real deal”, renowned property writer Beverley Brown told how CALA Homes had scooped the “property equivalent of an Oscar” for transforming a former industrial gap site into a classy dockside development, where the houses for sale have been snapped up in double quick time.
Sarah Stanger, Sales and Marketing Director at CALA Homes (East) said of the victory: “It’s an honour to have won the ‘Best Brownfield’ category at the What House? Awards – it’s a fantastic feeling to be recognised for the care, thought and sheer hard work that has gone into the development.”
However, the coverage didn’t stop there as The Herald also included CALA’s luxury Cumberland show home in a double page spread, headlined, “The new homes open for business”.
The paper reported how the opening of the stunning Cumberland showhome – a five bedroom dream property on the market for £965,000 – marks the release of the final phase of properties at the multi award winning Trinity Park development.
Sarah Stanger added: “Trinity Park is already a thriving and close-knit community, so we did detailed research among the many happy buyers to establish exactly what makes the properties so special for them.”
The New-Town inspired development saw CALA Homes bring in some of the country’s most talented interior designers to deliver a knock-out showhome. Jill Eilbeck, Interior Designer at Jeffreys, said she was delighted when CALA challenged her to give the ample property an airy European feel and added: “We have kept the interiors very light and bright to emphasise the space, but have added punches of colour through accessories.”
With a print circulation of more than 47,000 it’s fair to say the story created a strong impact with property fanatics.
