BIELD STANDARDS SCORE HIGH

Bield Housing And Care Press releases

Lady in KitchenBield has emphasised its standing as the leading provider of housing and social care for older people in Scotland after receiving glowing endorsements from those who matter most – the people who use its services.

A tenant satisfaction survey found increased levels of high satisfaction for Bield services across Scotland.

The survey revealed 95% of tenants would recommend Bield as a landlord, 94% of tenants would recommend the development they live in, 90% said that moving into their Bield home has improved their peace of mind and over half reported that moving has improved their physical health.

Additionally, 88% of the tenants who took part in the survey said they were satisfied with the overall service provided by Bield.

Delighted

Nicola Harcus, Assistant Director of Strategic Support, said: “Public recognition is always satisfying for the teams who work so hard to make Bield what it is today.

Everyone at Bield can be proud that 94% of tenants would recommend us to others. We are delighted the tenants think we are providing them with quality care which enhances and enriches their lives.”

4113 postal surveys were issued to tenants and more than a third, 38.4%, took the opportunity to have their say.

Nicola continued: “We are extremely pleased with the response to the survey. Since the last survey in 2010 nearly all the statistics have risen. Considering we have been through a period of change, modernising our sheltered housing to a new retirement housing model these are very pleasing statistics.

The number of tenants saying they were ‘very satisfied’ with the service of the staff has risen 20% since 2010 and those saying that moving to a Bield development has improved their peace of mind has increased by 4%, which we are extremely happy about.

There are so many positive findings from the survey, but the survey is also useful in letting us know what the tenants want for the future. Their feedback is what guides us in making improvements to their living experience and their insight is invaluable to us.

We have put a plan in place to develop the ways we communicate with our tenants as the survey showed that some prefer face to face communications where as others would rather be communicated with through text or email. So we want to extend the ways we communicate with our tenants to ensure they continue to feel well informed.

Overall we are very pleased the tenants are happy and this survey has reassured us that we are providing a safe and happy environment for them.”

Bield is a registered charity which grew from humble beginnings, starting out with one housing development in Bo’ness growing into a wide range of housing and services for around 20,000 older people across 23 local authority areas.
