Bield Encourages Easy Fundraising

BieldA leading care and housing provider in Scotland is encouraging internet shoppers to do a good deed whilst indulging in some online retail therapy.

Bield, who work in 23 local authority areas across Scotland, have signed up to the easyfundraising.org.uk website, in order to encourage a quick and easy way to donate to a good cause.

The site, which has raised a staggering £8 million to date for various charities across the UK including over £550 for Bield already, allows online shoppers to make donations without having to spend a penny extra when making an online purchase.

With over 2,700 registered retailers, including the likes of Marks & Spencer, Argos, Thomas Cook, Expedia, Tesco, Asda & Sainsbury’s, all online shoppers need to do is simply click on their retailer of choice from the easyfundraising web page before going on to make their purchase as normal.

With the percentage of donations varying from retailer to retailer, buyers will see a small chunk of the price they paid for their item given to their charity of choice.

Keen to take advantage of this quick and easy way to fundraise, Bield have signed up to the site, meaning that any purchase – from buying clothes to booking a holiday – can mean a donation to this excellent cause.

Having seen £550 already raised, Bield have recognised that donations primarily come from simple things like doing weekly grocery shops or by making long term changes such as swapping insurance providers on the likes of cars and homes.

Kevin Rowe, Fundraiser for Bield, said: “The more people that know about this fantastic site, the better.

“It is a quick and easy way to raise money and what is great is that people can do their good deed for the day whilst treating themselves, so everyone wins.

“It’s wonderful to see so many retailers sign up to the webpage. The wide variety means people can approach the site to purchase almost anything, for example, booking a holiday, doing an online grocery shop or buying clothes from some of the UK’s biggest retailers.

“It’s quick and easy to use and the charities, Bield included, are all raising funds for great causes.

“It really is money for nothing & although it’s only pennies per purchase, it soon adds up as you can see. As one of the main featured retailers would say “Every Little Helps!”

Free donations can also be made by downloading the Donation Reminder toolbar, meaning that buyers have plenty of options when donating with no added expense.
