Meg Melvin Turns 108- Bield When we heard about one of Bield’s residents turning the grand age of 108, we decided to tell the world her story.

Meg Melvin, a Glasgow great-grandmother who was eight when the First World War broke out, is Scotland’s second oldest woman.

Born on 7 August 1906, Meg celebrated her birthday with a party and buffet organised by her carers at Bield’s Dundas Court in Glasgow, where she has lived for the past ten years.

After inviting media along to the event, Account Executive Melissa Clark went along on the day to facilitate media including STV Riverside Show, Clydebank Post and the Evening Times who all attended the celebrations and ran the story the following day.

News of this milestone also appeared in the Evening Telegraph, the Sunday Post and the Daily Star and top health title Care Industry News.

Holyrood PR’s own in-house photographer also attended the bash, snapping the happy occasion which saw Meg party with friends, family and staff at the home.Meg Melvin Turns 108- Bield
