Art Exhibition Success For Care Home Residents

Bupa Care Services Press releases

Edinburgh PR Client Bupa ArtResidents at Bupa’s Arran View Care Home in Saltcoats have found themselves becoming ‘paid artists’ thanks to a successful art exhibition.

The exhibition of artwork created by residents raised nearly £150 which will be put towards the home’s activity fund.

The display attracted friends and family who came along to purchase the designs – and also show support to relatives who are resident at the home.

Jenny Trott, Activity Coordinator at Bupa’s Arran View Care Home, said: “We are delighted at the success of the art exhibition and to have raised £147 from the sale of the residents’ work is a great achievement.

Many of the residents at the home are living with dementia and getting them involved in arts and crafts is a great way to stimulate their motor skills.

It was also great to see the residents create their own artwork – at first many of the residents had doubts and didn’t think they could do it. So the pleasure in becoming ‘paid artists’ was a great added bonus.”
