LASER LIGHT SHOW AT THE SHARD (Gaynor)

Europe’s tallest building was officially honoured last night with a mammoth laser show which could be seen across London. The architectural wonder which sits at 1,016 ft high sits on London’s Southbank and is owned by LBQ ltd. The building will be home to bankers from Qatar and has an unbelievable 44 lifts to transport them up and down all day. Not sure I’d fancy working in it but you have to admit it looks pretty good in the dark with lasers pointing out from it!

OUT OF THIS WORLD (Victoria)

An amateur film maker has produced a stunning video created with NASA images taken from the International Space Station, which has received millions of views since being shared by a former astronaut on his Google+ page.
18 year old Croatian Tomislav Safundzic’s time lapse video, ‘This Is Our Planet’ offers a spectacular view of earth and is set alongside The XX’s ‘Intro’.
The video will blow your mind. Incredible.

YOUR BROWS MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE YOUR FROM LANDAN! (Laura)

As a Liverpudlian lassie I am well known in the office for my scouse brow – yup that’s right a dark brow which I draw on every morning with a pencil. Well now research from Debenhams, apparently one of the country’s biggest stockist of eye brow goodies has claimed that you can tell what accent a girl has just by looking at the shape and darkness of her eyebrow. Apparently us ladies up North buy most eye brow pencils, favouring a thicker darker brow, wereas those down south opt for a softer more arched look. And Scotland? Well you ladies up here like to keep it nice and straight in what is known as a ‘plank brow’ So there you have it the mysteries of eye brows revealed!

KERMIT ON TOUR (Lewis)

This has always been an idea of mine to take a snap with a toy at iconic locations and put them together into a slideshow or video and this guy has done something similar. Using his Kermit the frog toy, he has taken photos of Kermit all around the world from the Great Wall of China to the Stars on Hollywood walk of fame. What’s great and humorous about the photos is Mr Morgenroth, the genius behind the photos, has put little captions on the photos.
Check out the news article then go to the actual website to see hundreds of Kermit on Tour pics!

TUMBLR TALK (Sarah)

For those of you who use tumblr as an outlet for your own creativity, or as an insight into that of others, you may be aware of certain slang employed by bloggers who post there. Similar in many ways to much contemporary social media slang, phrases defined in an article on mashable.com include ‘I can’t even’, translated as – ‘an expression that denotes so many emotional responses to news, the user can’t process it’ – ‘Ship’, which translates as – ‘relationship’ – and ‘hnnng’ which is defined as – ‘the term used when a user encounters something or someone he or she finds very, very desirable’.
