DOODLING SKY ROCKETS NORTHWARD (Aimee)

I look down on my notepad after a Monday meeting scribbling sesh and shake my head whilst thinking what a load of mince. But if roughly 6,000 people would be as so nice to donate atleast $1 to a latest Kickstarter creation, my doodling woes will be blasted to the depths of my broken pencil case. 3D Doodler is the world’s first 3D printing pen – you can draw anything and it pops up in  all its 3D glory. . You get the point. Wobble Works LLC needs just $30,000 and in the last half hour it has already notched up over $4,000.
What would you create?

CANNED FOODS YOU NEVER KNEW EXISTED (Aoibhínn)

Recent horse meat scandals got me thinking about alternative foods which, although may turn most of our stomachs, are considered delicacies in some countries. To make matters worse some genius manufacturers made the executive decisions to can some of the oddest food stuffs I have ever had the displeasure of knowing were even edible. Coming in at number one on Buzzfeed’s list is canned whole chicken (which almost made me vomit over my breakfast this morning), but by no means is this the most revolting food displayed. The list of canned oddities goes on to include; Fish Assholes, Cheese Burgers, Creamed Possum, Rattlesnake, Alligator and my personal favourite Pork Brains – in milk gravy none the less. Possibly a little too late on this, but apologies if you’re perusing this while tucking into your lunch, enjoy!

COSTLY COFFEE (Sarah)

Anyone in the Holyrood office will tell you I am a huge fan of coffee (although the bosses will complain I never quite mange to finish what’s in my cup). If it came to a coffee version of a man versus food challenge I would be quickly and unanimously nominated to represent the team. However, even I don’t think I could face attempting this monster. Beau Chevassus created the Quadriginoctuple Frap at a Starbucks branch in Washington, in an attempt to set the world record for the most expensive coffee concoction. He succeeded with this unpronounceable badboy costing a whopping $47.50. For a list of what’s in it (along side the 48 shots of espresso that is) click on the link!

SEA-WORLD SHOW EVERYONE HOW A HARLEM SHAKE IS REALLY DONE (Melissa)

So we’ve all heard about the Harlem Shake by now but across the pond at San Antonio’s Sea World, the staff and sea-life out did themselves with their routine.
Not only did everyone get involved to shake their tail-feather (or fins) but a walrus even managed to do a quick work-out in time to the music.
Youtubers need to now take note and see how high the bar has been set for the latest viral sensation and see that without giant sea-mammals, the Harlem Shake just isn’t that funny.

HOW HIGH IS TOO HIGH TO DRIVE (Victoria)

To highlight the dangers of driving whilst under the influence of marijuana after both Colorado and Washington states recently legalised recreational use of the drug, a Seattle TV station undertook its own set of tests.
Volunteers were all provided with pot to smoke, appropriately named ‘blueberry train wreck’ and then let loose on a driving course to test the effects, to some entertaining results.
Some fared better than others, but it doesn’t add much clarity to the question in hand.
